A ROSE GOLD AND GARNET DOUBLET SUITE, CIRCA 1800

Comprising a pair of earrings, a necklace, a brooch, a buckle and two bracelets, featuring round, oval and pear-shaped garnet doublets, set in 9k and 12k rose gold, in a fitted box, earrings measure 1 1/4 x 3/8 in., necklace length 16 1/4 in., brooch measures 1 3/8 x 1 1/4 in., buckle measures 1 5/8 x 1 1/4 in., bracelet lengths 6 3/4 in. each

Provenance: the suite is accompanied by a letter dated May 5, 1916, referring to the gifting of the suite of jewels to Luis Blenkinsop from Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III and Queen Consort of Great Britain and Ireland from 1761 until her death in 1818.

OVERALL CONDITION:
Metal tested with XRF (X-ray fluorescence) as 9k and 12k gold; necklace clasp requires repair; some garnet doublets show small chips and minor abrasion; one (1) oval doublet in brooch is cracked; metals show some oxidation; superficial wear in the form of minor scratches; overall good condition.
