Los Angeles – Bonhams announces a series of spring sales to take place at our Los Angeles Sunset Boulevard gallery that features not only the best of West Coast artists in the United States but also numerous works from masters such as Warhol, Picasso, and Lichtenstein.

Prints & Multiples
March 29

The rare complete portfolio of Andy Warhol's Grapes (1979) leads the Prints & Multiples sale in Los Angeles on March 29th. Estimated at $200,000 - 250,000, Warhol brings a new approach to the traditional genre of still life. There are also several works by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) including one of the top lots, Jacqueline au Bandeau de Face (Grand Tête de Femme) (1962) which is estimated at $90,000 - $120,000. Additional highlights of the sale include Sunshine Through the Clouds (1985) and Crying Girl (1963) by Roy Lichtenstein (1923-1997), estimated at $60,000 - 80,000 and $40,000 - 60,000, respectively, and a complete set of 15 signed lithographs, Le Lézard aux Plumes d'Or (1971), by Joan Miró (1893-1983) estimated at $50,000 - 70,000.

California Art
April 12

Celebrating the beauty of California and its artists, Bonhams' California Art sale is to be held on April 12th in Los Angeles and will be led by two lush landscapes from Granville Redmond (1871-1935). The two works, Lupines and Poppies (1912) and In Southern California (1905), showcase Redmond's talent as a bold colorist and landscape painter which gained him renown throughout the state, both are estimated at $100,000 - 150,000. Also featured in the sale is Moss Beach, Monterey by Raymond Dabb Yelland (1848-1900) with an estimate of $50,000 - $70,000 and Snow Above the Ranch, a landscape by William Wendt, estimated at $30,000 - 50,000.

Western Art
April 26

The glory of the American West will be on full display at the Bonhams Western Art sale on April 26th in Los Angeles. The top lot, Pink and Black (Still Life) (1918) by Victor Higgins, takes its inspiration from the time that the artist spent in Taos Pueblo, New Mexico and his exploration of the people there, it is estimated at $300,000 - 500,000. Additionally, there will be five works by Maynard Dixon (1875-1946), renowned for his western landscapes, especially desert and mountain scenes. Topping this group of Dixon's is Glory After Storm, where cumulonimbus formations roil over the Santa Catalina Mountain range, and it is estimated at $60,000 - 80,000.
